Yesterday, or Today (depends where you are!) I was a guest blogger for the very first time over at Stash Manicure!
I was a bit nervous as I had never written for so many readers before and I was a bit worried about my post- I think I rewrote it about 4 times as I struggled writing parts of it (especially the part about quilting as a therapy) but I had a great time posting over there :)
I don't think that I have ever really shared on here how I became a quilter and why I quilt so if you would like to read my post here it is- "...when I was 17, it was a very good year".
I also share my quilts and talk a little about my Stash and how I am/ or intend to manicure it, so I hope you enjoy it!
Before you go... you might want to take a cup of coffee or tea with you as it is a bit of a lengthy post!
If your coming from Stash Manicure...Thankyou so much for reading my post and for the lovely comments you left both over there and here. I was actually in a 2 hour German Exam when it was posted and was feeling quite drained and flat when I got out so it was really uplifting to read such kind comments when I got home. They really made me smile and continue to :)
So...thankyou for visiting!
I hope you have had or are having a lovely day and thankyou to my new followers (hello!) for joining me on my journey :)

Awe, well, I think you and your dog are just too cute! I don't know if my daughter will like to sew when she's 17...but I hope she gets some desire...if not my son is interested! =)
ReplyDeleteGet rested...that German test would've wiped me out too.
HI Sweetie...I had no doubt whatsoever that many would adore you as I do ....there now that this day is behind you ..hug Charlie and whisper to him.." they really love me" cause they do...he will agree xx
ReplyDeleteMiranda, thank you for sharing your story! It's so wonderful to hear fun stories from teenagers and find out about what inspires them.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved fabric, and even wanted to quilt when I was 8 years old, when I started sewing a green triangle scrap on top of a black wool dress, since I had decided it would be more beautiful if it were covered in scraps. I did not finish that attempt, but I remember it clearly, and that was almost 40 years ago. I only rediscovered quilting about 7 years ago but have always enjoyed other crafts.
I guess my point is, this is a way of life, and it is a way of thinking that some other people just will never understand. Embrace it!
Oh, Miranda, I forgot to add that if you are looking for scrap ideas, check out Bonnie K. Hunter's Quiltville.com website. She's terrific!

I've just popped over from Stash Manicure and read your wonderful post and I've been having a look around your blog. Great work Miranda! I've been quilting for a couple of years longer than you, and sewing clothes for longer than that, but I haven't finished an actual quilt yet! I have a WIP and a planned work that I have the fabrics for. Wish I had your confidence :P. You go girl :D.
